I'm LuCa Ayres, a Brazilian photographer in Madrid. Whenever someone contacts me to take photos here in the Spanish capital, they ask me what the best time is for the shoot.
Having lived in this vibrant city for years, I've discovered that it has its own rhythm, waking up a little later than most European cities. And that's a great advantage for anyone wanting to do a photoshoot here!
One of the best times to photograph Madrid is early in the morning, around sunrise. At this time, the light is soft, creating delicate shadows and a perfect atmosphere for portraits or photos of stunning scenery. And best of all: the streets are still empty! You can enjoy the most iconic sights without the usual crowds.
It's worth remembering that the exact sunrise time varies depending on the time of year. In summer, for example, the sun may appear before 7 am, while in winter it only shows its face around 8:30 am. So, when planning your trip, consider this to make the most of the city's magical light.
Here's a little idea of when would be the ideal time for a quiet session with the streets almost deserted and the light beautiful!
January: around 9:30 AM
February: 9:10 AM
March: 8:30 AM
April: 8:10 AM
May: 7:40 AM
June: 7:30 AM
July: 7:40 AM
August: 8:10 AM
September: 8:40 AM
October: 9:10 AM
November: 9:30 AM
December: 9:45 AM
With this information in mind, we can schedule a personalized photoshoot , taking advantage of the best that Madrid's light has to offer! Let's talk and plan together a session that will immortalize your experience in the city. After all, as they say, a good photo is the best souvenir of an unforgettable trip.
See you in Madrid!
